Network Security Server Web UI

After you confirm all the changes to your system we’ll be ready to connect to the web UI to check all the settings. At this point you may log out, close the console window and continue connecting to the Web UI using the management port IP address. The Web UI log-in screen shows the hostname you previously set and the warnings or information to the user before they log in. You may change this information in the settings once you are logged in as the administrator. If you have just installed or upgraded the appliance to a new version you’ll be presented with the new feature screen for this version. You may be presented with a warning message on a brand new appliance before the system connects and downloads the latest security content and before a backup has been completed. Some of these will clear in the first 10 minutes after first boot. You should acknowledge the warning so that you may continue without having to see the warning on every screen. The warning notification window will show you current warnings, color coded; blue equals information, yellow equals warning and red equals critical warning. You can always return to those new features in the about supported feature screen and filter using the checkbox ‘new features’. To set the rest of the configuration we will switch to the configuration settings menu by clicking on the settings button in the top menu bar of the menu. Although all of these settings can be adjusted individually using the CLI, it’s much quieter and there’s less chance of mistakes being made here in the Web UI setting screen. When we logged in a few minutes ago I mentioned the log-in screen warning and information. To change these use the last item in the left side menu. ‘Log-in banner’ is the place to edit these. You will see here, there are different options and messages that can be presented to those logging in via the Web UI and SSH log-in pages as well as the banner text for a telnet connection and a message of the day text to show all who connect to the CLI.
